2011 General Motors Future Cars | Action Cars | used cars | cars

Buick Regal Gs Show Car Side
A year ago, General Motors filed for bankruptcy, and installed a revolving door of the office of the CEO. Went to Pontiac and Saturn. Hummer is on its way to the Chinese-owned. Saab remains uncertain and is likely to be eliminated in the near future.

A year ago, Nissan and Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn said, "the tough times, you have to watch and adjust the product-development programs, but you can not just stop it. Because when things are back to normal There is nothing to come on the market. The one thing is for sure the future is that people continue to drive. "People are still driving it, and roll off a GM made some very interesting, relevant and well-designed products.

Inter alia, that works hard to fill in the blank of the Buick lineup, because it is preparing to launch the much-ballyhooed Chevrolet Volt, and all the more important. Here's the skinny on a significant new product in general, just at the turn of a calendar page.

The 2010 GMC Terrain

2010 GMC Terrain is another excellent compact crossover SUV from the house of General Motors. The Chevy Equinox and Terrain share several auto parts and even the basic architectural design, though Equinox looks more like a redesigned Terrain.

Looking at the salient features of the latest generation Terrain models, you'll discover that General Motors has incorporated several unique things in the new Terrain such as the 2 pulse techniques with a direct infuse engine injection that helps the engine in starting up faster in cold weather too.

The 2010 Terrain will be marketed in four trims viz SLT-1, SLT-2 as well as SLE-1, and SLE-2. The SLE-1 and 2 will be the base trims offering the standard features, while the SLT trims will offer heated front seats, leather upholstery, and other advanced features.

In 2010 GMC Terrain, fuel economy is going to be yet another extraordinary aspect. A 4-cylinder model with front-wheel drive has bagged EPA calculation of 22mpg on city and 32 mpg on highways, making an overall average of 26 mpg altogether; this is stupendous for an SUV of its kind. The 3L V6 also achieves 20+ mpg, along with plentiful power punch to tackle the hilly tracks. The latest generation V6 powered GMC Terrain comes with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds.

What's more, the new Terrain isn't going to be a costly affair despite all its goodness, and will stand forth in the race of the most affordable compact crossover SUVs as well. So, keep an eye on its release this year, and how it really performs when it hits the roads worldwide.

Chevrolet to Reveal 10 New Models, Buick and GMC another 10 through 2011

The new General Motors announced today that it is going to launch 25 brand-new models into the market by the end of 2011 including five new entries for Cadillac, 10 for Chevy while Buick and GMC will add another 10 new models. We've already told you about Cadillac's entries here, so let's concentrate on the three other brands of the "revitalized" General Motors.

Starting with Chevrolet, the brand's most important introduction is of course the Volt plug-in hybrid that's expected to achieve triple-digit fuel economy according to a new methodology used by EPA (see here). In addition to the Volt that will arrive in US showrooms in late 2010, Chevy's relaunch will be include the Spark city car, the Cruze compact-size sedan, a replacement for the Aveo and quite possibly, the Convertible version of the Camaro.

Moving on to Buick and GMC, the Detroit automaker said that the two brands will present a total of 10 new entries through 2011.

Buick's range will be enhanced with the 2010MY Buick La Crosse as well what appears to be a rebadged version of the Saturn Vue compact crossover in 2010 followed in 2011 by a plug-in hybrid variant plus two more sedans, one based on the Opel Insignia / Buick Regal (Chinese market) and the other on the Chevy Cruze / Opel Astra Delta platform.

As for GMC, aside from the new Terrain SUV that was unveiled in New York in April, it is reported that General Motors will present a smaller crossover model.

We suspect that GM will release more details on its new model portfolio later on in the year.
